I recently got an opportunity to go on an epic journey to arid NSW with 2 bangin’ artist babes, Angela Bekiaris and Caroline Kronenberg, to spend some time at the Greenhouse, at UNSW’s Arid Research Centre in Fowler’s Gap (about an hour from Broken Hill).
It was a Thelma and Louise-esque scenario of epic proportions – driving 2,500km all up (several hundred kilometres on red dirt roads, almost hitting several emus on the way, staying in motels on the way (including the fabulous Palace Hotel of Priscilla fame).
I developed a primary work while there, titled Land Mythologies, while also collaborating with fellow artist Caroline Kronenberg on a series of smokey atmospheric landscape photographs.
